We remodel fireplaces in Tulsa, Oklahoma by refacing them with stone, cultured stone (manufactured stone), stucco, or brick veneer giving them the makeover of your dreams. Talk with a fireplace contractor or a home designer or just spend some time shopping home improvement stores to learn about the different types of lumber, the types and styles of moldings and pilasters (columns) that are available, and the other materials you may want to use, such as stone, brick, drywall, etc.
Since we had the wall open in the back we installed a power outlet and cable for our tv. I’m not usually a fan of tvs over the fireplace but in this room we didn’t have another space I liked better for the tv and we love to watch movies together so we wanted a tv in here.
It will help determine whether or not you have to rip it all out, or if you can simply cover over it or paint it. When you’re choosing what style to move forward with, consider the style of the rest of your house so that you can keep the theme consistent when you renovate your fireplace.
Okay confession: this next photo is from my old house but I love that it kind of shows you how to arrange it. I didn’t want to give dimensions because every single fireplace we’ve done (out of the 4 we’ve built/in the middle of building) have been very different dimensions.www^standout-fireplace-designs^com
We’ll just stucco over it. Above the fireplace, where the lava rock extends to the ceiling, we’ll remove the rock, because the room just isn’t big enough to carry the enormity of that floor-to-ceiling stone, and a regular wall above the fireplace makes it easier to hang a picture, big TV, or whatever.
